One of the biggest names in the boot game has turned the volume all the way up. Enter the New Balance Live Wire Pack—a bold, electric release that’s guaranteed to grab attention before a ball is even kicked. Naturally, we had to get them on our feet and find out whether they play as good as they look.
The Live Wire Pack brings together New Balance’s top-tier lineup: the Tekela V5, Furon V8, and 442 V3. Three very different boots, all sharing the same high-voltage design — and each aimed at a different type of player.

The standout of the pack for me has to be the Tekela V5. From the moment you see it, it makes a statement. The mostly black base is lit up with bright yellow electric details, while a red pattern crackles across the upper. It’s bold, it’s fearless, and somehow it all just works.
Performance-wise, the Tekela is built for players who want total control of the game. The microfibre upper gives a clean, cushioned touch, while the textured grip zones really come alive when receiving and distributing the ball. Add in the knit collar for that locked-in feel, and you’ve got a boot that feels secure, responsive, and confident underfoot.
When we tested it, the control was obvious — this boot wants you on the ball, pulling the strings.

If your game is all about explosive movement, the Furon V8 is speaking your language. Designed with a T-shaped stud configuration, this boot is built to maximise speed and agility — perfect for sharp cuts, quick take-offs, and leaving defenders behind.
But it’s not just a speed merchant. The Furon features an extended strike zone and a multi-textured upper, giving you surprising control for a lightweight, attacking boot. Visually, it’s impossible to miss: a bright, electrifying yellow base paired with black and red details. This is a boot that looks fast just sitting still.
Personally, I’m not sure if I’ve ever managed to run as fast as I did in these boots, all whilst controlling the ball exactly as I needed to.

Then there’s the 442 V3, a boot that blends old-school vibes with modern performance. It keeps that classic, retro feel boot look, but the Live Wire colourway gives it a fresh twist. The bright yellow details pop, and the logo has an almost holographic look that catches the light beautifully.
Despite its traditional silhouette, the tech is fully modern. The lightweight microfibre construction keeps things comfortable, while the debossed upper improves ball control. Underneath, the dual-injection soleplate with conical studs allows smooth, unrestricted movement. On the pitch, it felt like a true all-rounder — ideal for myself as an attacking player, but equally well-suited to defenders who want reliability with a bit of flair.

The New Balance Live Wire Pack delivers across the board. Three boots, three playstyles, and one seriously energetic design theme.
Whether you’re about control, speed, or classic versatility, there’s something here that’ll light up your game. Get yours new at New Balance.
