Best cheap La Liga players for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team

La Liga has always been packed with incredible talent, and it’s proving to be a popular league yet again in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.
The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are famous for their superstar squads, and many FUT fans dream of building their teams around Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann or Eden Hazard. Unfortunately, this type of player typically costs an arm, a leg and requires unbelievable amounts of pack luck.
For those of us with limited time and resources, we need to focus our attention on affordable overpowered players to help us compete on a budget. So, I’ve put together a list of the best cheap La Liga players on FIFA 21, with suggested signings for every position.
Let the wheeling and dealing commence.

Best XI: Most Overpowered La Liga Starter Team for FIFA 21
At the time of writing, my entire La Liga starter team costs less than 50,000 coins, but remember that prices can fluctuate very quickly. If you want to get hold of these overpowered beasts on the cheap, you’ll have to move pretty darn fast.
GK: Aitor Fernandez
Estimated value: 1200 coins
The goalkeeper will never be your most exciting buy, but you’re actually a little spoilt for choice in La Liga. Geronimo Rulli and the aptly-named Neto are both very capable between the sticks, but it’s Levante’s Aitor Fernandez who looks like the best all-round stopper. I’d be lying if I said he was anything special, but he’s also an absolute steal at that price.
RB: Ander Capa
Estimated value: 2000 coins
Everyone wants to see their right-back charging down the wings on the overlap. Thanks to some pretty explosive pace, Ander Capa is capable of doing exactly that, while his insane physicality turns him into a downright monster. Honestly, you need to get this guy in, he’ll be bullying defenders in pretty much no time at all.
CB: Nacho Fernandez
Estimated value: 1300 coins
Nacho has been a staple of my FUT starter team for the past few years now, even if his rating has gradually dipped a bit. Okay, so he’s not too great on the ball, but he’s still quick and strong enough to provide a solid option at the back, especially for such a cut-price deal. Plus, the name “Nacho” is always fun to say out loud.
CB: Jose Gimenez
Estimated value: 4000 coins
In all honesty, there aren’t many budget La Liga defenders which really peak my interest. Jose Gimenez is probably the best of a bang average bunch, although his lack of pace could soon result in a smashed controller (or two). Of course, you’re buying him for his excellent defensive skills, but you’ll have to pair him with a much quicker defender if you play a high line.
LB: Marcelo
Estimated value: 2800 coins
His rating’s taken a bit of a battering this year but, c’mon, it’s freaking Marcelo. The Brazilian left-back is always an absolute blast to play with, since he’s got more tricks up his sleeve than a handcuffed magician. I don’t care if he’s not quite the player he once was, those 5-star skill moves have got me frothing at the mouth here.
CDM: Fernando Reges
Estimated value: 2300 coins
Yeah, this guy looks alright. Fernando Reges is definitely the most reliable CDM you can bag on the cheap, but the lack of other options may force you to switch formation slightly. Yes, his lack of pace may be a concern, but he’s still surprisingly effective at snuffing out danger and disrupting the play. Not too shabby at all.
CM: Marcos Llorente
Estimated value: 4000 coins
There’s a ton of awesome central midfielders in La Liga, regardless of the budget you’re working with. For me, Marcos Llorente is the one who should go straight to the top of your shortlist, since he’s proven effective in pretty every midfield situation. I’ve already started calling him Mr Reliable.
He’s quick enough to launch a counter, strong enough to make a tackle and skilful enough to keep hold of the ball. You might feel overwhelmed by all the other options, but Llorente feels essential at this moment in time.
CAM: Philippe Coutinho
Estimated value: 3200 coins
I mean, Philippe Coutinho is always capable of pulling something out of the bag. His time at Barcelona has been pretty disastrous, but there’s clearly still a player in there who can dribble, pass and score the odd screamer. He feels criminally underpriced right now, so I’d move fast to bring him into your team - just don’t loan him to Bayern, it won’t end well.
RW: Portu
Estimated value: 3000 coins
Yep, every Ultimate Team needs at least one player which will have the opposition spitting dust. Well, Portu’s so quick and skilful, he’ll also leave defenders sat slumped on the floor, eyes crossed in a daze as they try to figure out where he’s just gone. Basically, he’s absolutely rapid and a horrifying nightmare to play against.
LW: Yannick Carrasco
Estimated value: 2000 coins
Oh yeah, that’s right - Yannick Carrasco is actually even quicker. He’ll come screaming down the left flank and have defenders grasping at wisps of smoke, while he’s even got slightly better shooting and dribbling stats. True, he’s not quite as strong as Portu, but these guys could become your very own Ribery and Robben.
ST: Joao Felix
Estimated value: 5000 coins
I don’t really know why Joao Felix is so cheap. He’s probably not the most effective lone striker, but his pace, dribbling and shooting are strong enough to pose a serious threat. Alright, so he’s not the strongest centre-forward you’re ever going to see, but he’s yet another budget baller who loves a fancy flick or trick. His 5-star skill moves can attest to that.
Compare prices on La Liga shirts
The above players are all incredible bargains, but they’re not quite as good as the savings we’ve found on the latest La Liga kits. Besides, I can’t be the only one who goes full kit while playing video games… right? RIGHT!?
