Ned Stark once famously bellowed, “Winter is coming, so we’d best grab the GORE-TEX”, or words to that effect, sort of. In fairness, he would have been right to say that. Nike continues to adapt and improve its AF1 range in 2020/21 with the Air Force 1 GTX, this time using GORE-TEX technology to protect the wearer’s feet from harsher and wetter conditions. Meanwhile, sticking to their ethos that the shoe should still look incredible in the process.
GORE-TEX have been a staple partner of Nike’s since 1997 and their latest collaboration continues to deliver an unrivalled waterproof and windproof experience, riding on the sharp looks of the LV ‘07 AF1. The silhouette still holds onto everything we’ve come to expect from this heritage b-ball trainer: Air cushioning, multi-surface traction, plus padded ankle and tongue.
Anthracite/barely grey/black is one of the inaugural colourways for this model, with two more subtle autumn/winter shades available too. Grab them as early as possible because when winter actually arrives, these are going to be tough to get hold of.
Style code: CT2858-001
Release date: Nike members can get them first on 29th October 2020. The wider public release date is 11th November 2020.
