12 best shirts at EURO 2024

Another summer. Another slim chance for football to come home. But you’ll be glad to hear that isn’t what we want to focus on today. We’re only interested in the best shirts from the tournament.
We’re here to feast on a brand new set of tournament-ready, exquisite international football kits. Each one primed and prepped for the big stage, or the ‘große bühne’, if we’re going native.
With 24 teams competing for EURO 2024 glory in Germany, it’s too many shirts for us to handle. Plus in all honesty, we know a chunk of those will be a bit naff anyway.
We’ve narrowed it down to a list that contains only the most sublime shirts. So, here goes our ranking of the 12 must-haves from EURO 2024 (regardless of who you’re supporting). Enjoy.
12. Belgium (Home)
This won’t be the only time we mention adidas’ return to their Teamgeist-y ways for 2024. They’ve definitely succeeded in reinventing the iconic template from almost 20 years ago.
Chronic near-missers Belgium have darkened their look for the visit to Germany, taking on a burgundy tinge with gold details. They mix perfectly to deliver a classiness to the overall look.
The best detail lies within though, as shimmering regal crowns sit within a geometric pattern across the entire base. Front and back.
We’re enjoying this more and more, each time we Rom around taking another Luk at it. De Bruyne is welcome to De join-er our party, thanks to these serious threads.
11. France (Home)
This is the first entry from a France x Nike double, which may well be their best home and away combo of all time. There, we said it.
The giant crest. In gold. Amazing addition. More countries and clubs should be embracing this level of carefree and frankly, ludicrous behaviour in their design rooms.
The blue is perfect and it’s kept solid throughout to give the enormous golden FFF crest a base to dominate. That’s why it draws our eyes and mesmerises us with its majesty.
A Tricolore collar is always a welcome thing for us to see, but if we’re being picky, the only negative is the fact it comes across a tad wonky.
10. England (Away)
England. In Germany. They couldn’t, could they? We’ll settle ourselves for now and gaze into this purple haze of joy. Even a bar of Dairy Milk doesn’t look this appetising.
In a step away from the traditional red, this bold colour choice stands out. It’s slick. Add in three golden lions and a Midas swoosh, and you’ve got yourself a winning combination.
The highlight is the vent patterns. The multi-coloured St. George’s flag from the England home kit, which ignited people’s anger so much, happens to work perfectly in a toned down pattern here.
Its ribbed base is smart, and as a full kit it looks excellent. Here’s to hoping that Gareth turns out in a matching purple suit, waistcoat and gold tie.
9. Turkey (Home)
Let’s take a step back into a world of simplicity for a second. With a country so steeped in culture, it would’ve been easy for the designers to go full Ottoman with this one. We’re glad they haven’t.
Featuring a solid white base with a solitary thick, horizontal red band running through it, this Turkey home shirt is clean as they come.
The powerful central badge is a beautiful touch, keeping the crescent and star of the Turkish flag in plain sight. A move that’s sure to win over their passionate and vibrant fanbase.
Sometimes you just have to appreciate the simple things in life. And we Mon-tella you something, this is most certainly appreciated by us.
8. Belgium (Away)
This incredible football shirt is inspired by a national legend of Belgium. Nope, not Jean-Claude Van Damme, it’s actually the adventurous cartoon boy, Tintin.
The character's famous turquoise jumper and white collar are brought to life by adidas, and we’re loving it. It uses the same geometric background as the home, but crowns are switched for ‘1895’ (the Belgian FA’s founding year).
It’s such a barmy idea, that it’s actually paid off. The gold crown emblem sits on the neck, and the crisp white stripes set the dreamy blue off wonderfully.
We don’t like to be negative, but they’ve missed a massive trick by not bringing a white Wire Fox Terrier in alongside captain Kev for the kit promo. It was an open goal, c’mon!
7. Italy (Away)
In international football, we love a bit of flag waving. Seeing everyone proudly getting behind their country. It’s even better when it’s brought right into the nation’s kit itself.
This Italy away shirt delivers an ‘il Tricolore’ masterclass, it’s as smooth as prime Pirlo wafting his gifted right foot at a free kick, then sipping a huge glass of red to celebrate.
Plain on the outset, il Tricolore’s colours are all that’s really needed. Splashed across the design, both caringly and sparingly. Daringly? Glaringly.
The Italian blue is included, and it’s there to remind everyone exactly who’s here to dominate yet another major football tournament. It’s plain-ish, but somehow it still Scamacca’s you right in the feels.
6. Germany (Home)
Ah, now we can't ignore the host nation. Not when they look this damn good. Honest advice upfront, when you buy this one, go for the long sleeve edition. It’s absolutely incredible.
This design contains major hints from a legendary era of German kit-making: 1988-1994. The fiery flag of Germany, or schwarz - rot - gold, never fails to deliver an eye-catching result.
On the long sleeve version, these colours run not only from the shoulders, but also up from the sleeve cuffs too. It’s magnificent. The use of black throughout contrasts and balances everything.
We look forward to seeing this one in another final, we suppose. Huff. One thing is for certain, the word ‘Gross’ is going to look grossly misplaced on the back of this beauty.
5. Scotland (Home)
Bonnie Scotland, indeed. Scottish fans will be hoping their visit to Germany isn’t short lived, but they can rest happy in the knowledge that this shirt will stay in the memory for a long time.
In what we’re going to call a ‘half-Tartan’ design, this superb shirt gives us a glimpse of that magical summer back in ‘96, but it doesn’t linger on it. It’s ready to write some new history in ‘24.
The different shades of blue in a lively pattern, are offset by the brazen yellow of the badge and accents. St. Andrew’s Cross sits on the neck, not that Scots need any more of a push toward proud patriotism.
Robertson, McGinn, McTominay. It’s their time now. But hey, even if it isn’t, they’re going to look extremely stylish as they put their hearts on their sleeves in Germany.
4. Portugal (Away)
Time to sprinkle a touch of culture into this list. That culture is packaged up neatly by this unbelievable masterpiece, known only as: the Portugal away shirt.
Portuguese azulejo tiles form the inspiration, which have seemingly been plastered all over this dazzling Nike outfit. The base is white, with the tile pattern laid out subtly in a traditional light blue hue.
Thick black cuffs and collar contrast the loud patterning, giving it a finish as neat as a slide rule pass from Bruno. This is one of those rare, culture-inspired shirts which truly hits the back of the net.
We could well witness CR7 at his last major tournament (well, maybe), but it’s good to know he’s going to look more Adonis-like than ever before, when he pulls this on.
3. Denmark (Home)
We’re like a broken record here at FOOTY. But Denmark x hummel is one of the finer things in life, it’s a match made in heaven. Well, Scandinavia at least.
It’s no surprise that hummel has delved into the archives and bathed in inspiration from Denmark’s greatest ever year, 1992. Laudrup, Schmeichel, you know the fairytale.
The shoulder chevrons always remain, but they’ve also taken the background pattern from 1992 and modernised it with a unique pixelated style. It adds another dimension to the red base for 2024.
This shirt is a tasty slice of retro in the modern era. A solid white crew neck containing a red stripe, also sits on the cuffs. It’s beautifully balanced and we Kjaern’t believe just how good it looks.
2. Germany (Away)
The Germany home shirt was great. The away? Exceptional. We’re so used to seeing the blacks and greens of their previous away efforts, we almost forgot that the Germans also like to have fun, every now and again.
It’s an excellent release from adidas, who have followed up their genius efforts from 2022, with another fantastic international range for 2024. This one tops the bill for us.
The inspiration from 1988-1994 that we mentioned before? It’s apparent here too. Even though the base is a crazy pink to purple gradient, it has a spiky flame pattern similar to those of 1994.
It’s brash, it’s bold and somehow, it works in every possible way that you can look at it. This is risk-taking of the highest level. We Neuer love it, so Kroos online and buy it whilst you can.
1. France (Away)
This is a huge dollop of that French classic, the “oooh la la”. Or as the German’s might simply put it, “wunderbar”. This France kit is top class.
You know what’s missing from every modern take on retro style? Yeah, massive crests. The Gallic Rooster is a thing of beauty and in all its shiny, gigantic glory it’s, well, magnifique.
Plucked (get it?) straight from the fashion houses of Paris between 1980-2000, the vertical pinstripes are clearly the game changer on this incredible design.
The Tricolore gradient spans across the shirt without ever being overpowering, yet it’s strong enough to give a healthy dose of patriotism to each fan that pulls it on.
Blue trims finish the look off neatly and we have to mention the continued pinstripes through the shorts. Oof, if only we could be graced with Zidane’s eternalised bald head popping out of this one.
