League Structure

England’s third footballing tier has went under many different names since it’s inception back in 1920, but it’s currently (and most well) known as the Football League One. Sandwiched between the Championship and League Two in The Football League, the division is home to 24 teams looking to survive and climb up the footballing pyramid. At the end of each season, the four bottom teams of League One are demoted to the bottom level of the Football League in League Two. At the other end of the table, the top two teams and play off winners advance to the Championship.
