NYCFC history

Established in 2013, playing their first season in the Eastern Conference two years later, NYC FC are one of the youngest professional clubs in world football. The club are owned by Sheikh Mansour and his City Football Group, who also own Manchester City and Melbourne City and they share a similar sky blue style home shirt.

Their closest rivals New York Red Bulls were the first New York MLS franchise, but NYC FC are the first to actually be based in the iconic city, sharing a home ground with baseball side The Yankees. City had to suffer four consecutive defeats in the first Hudson River Derbies before they beat the Red Bulls for the first time back in July 2016.
